Our story

The DBF is dedicated to continuing the spirit and legacy of Dante Benedetti. For nearly 40 years Dante was San Francisco's own Mr. Baseball to thousands of boys and young men. His kindness, generosity and occasional firm hand guided many a young boy away from trouble and back onto the road to becoming responsible adults. His legacy is seen today throughout our community as "Dante's boys" have become policemen, doctors, coaches, teachers, and businessmen. The Foundation is actively seeking out new opportunities to impact our communities.  To date DBF have supported:

  • Glove drives, purchasing new equipment, balls, etc.

  • Field renovations

  • Direct financial support and sponsorship/scholarship
